Jim Knable with The Randy Bandits

bandits in kitchen2.jpgThe Randy Bandits are the band for which Jim Knable has written the songs and fronted since 2002.

They have played at Mercury Lounge, Rockwood Music Hall, The Living Room, CB's Gallery (RIP), The Zipper Factory (RIP), Makor, The Bell House, Union Hall and many other clubs, private parties (wedding, pool, birthday and office) and sidewalks. They released The Woman or the Blues EP in 2003, followed by full length albums Redbeard (2006) and Golden Arrow (2009), and live album Live at Otto's Shrunken Head in 2007. Golden Arrow has been called, among other things, "the best soulful country record to ever come out of the northeast."

NEWS FLASH: The lost album released! In 2007, after Redbeard and before Golden Arrow, Jim Knable and The Randy Bandits recorded a collection of songs meant to be featured in or used as inspiration for Jim Knable's play Green Man. Never quite finished to anyone's satisfaction, the songs resurface now as a offerings to everyone who always wanted to hear them or own them. Includes a pristine recording of the a cappella hit "Story of Your Life", the concert standard "Ain't Got Nobody" (in a finished and an early more chaotic version), and the songs from the play itself: "In the Garden" (electric version featuring the vocal stylings of Stephen Aleman) and "The Stars."
